Baule Figurative Staff/Dance Wand with Stand from Ivory Coast - 18" H

Baule hand-carved anthropomorphic figurative prestige staff or dance wand from the Ivory Coast. The upper part of the piece is comprised of a carved head with closed/heavy lidded eyes and simple facial features. The lower portion descends into a torso like section with a spiral pattern of hand-turned carving.
