Antique Baule Hand-Carved Husband & Wife Ancestral Figure from Ivory Coast - 16" H X 5" W X 5" D

This sculpture represents a husband and a wife. The two are joined back-to-back and are standing on an incised lined base with spaced circles. The hands of the female and male are on their abdomens and their facial features are similar with arched brows that have tribal scarification marks on both foreheads. The top of their heads are joined and have an elaborate carved hair texture. This verified piece is museum quality and would make an amazing addition to a collection.

Condition: Excellent

Wear: Base has a separation crack that is consistent with age. Please refer to pictures.
