West African Staff with Stand from Ivory Coast/Côte d’Ivoire

Baule-style hand-carved anthropomorphic figurative staff from the Ivory Coast. The upper part of the piece is comprised of a carved head with closed/heavy lidded eyes and simple facial features. The lower portion descends into a torso like section with a spiral pattern of hand-turned carving.
