Vintage Baule Hand Carved Male Soccer Player from Ivory Coast/Côte d’Ivoire

Vintage hand carved wooden male soccer player from the Baule peoples. He is in a standing position, has carved eyes, nose and mouth along with painted details. He is wearing soccer attire that includes a tank top shirt, shorts, and shoes with traces of paint in blue, red and white. The piece is a non-traditional artisanal piece with no sacred meaning and is mounted on a new plexiglass base.

Wear: Front right portion of foot is chipped off. Consistent with age and use. Please refer to pictures.
