Asmat War Trumpet "Fu" on Stand from Irian Jaya, Indonesia - 23" H

Antique Asmat war trumpet "Fu" made out of bamboo. It would be blown on the closed end containing the pierced round hole with the other end being open. The surface of the instrument is covered with an intricate geometric carved pattern. Its purpose was to function as a signaling horn, formerly used in warfare.

Displayed on a new custom acrylic stand that allows for it to be situated in a 360-degree setting. This piece would complement a variety of interior settings from Warm Minimalist, Organic-Inspired, Mid-Century... to California Casual, Boho or Coastal Modern. Create a collection - we have several sizes of similar pieces that would look great grouped together!
