Baule Spoon with Female Head from Ivory Coast/Côte d’Ivoire

Hand-carved spoon with a female effigy from the Ivory Coast. This example, made by a Baule carver, features a female head. It was likely made by an apprentice for practice or was an example by a master artisan. Pieces like these largely disappeared when metal and plastic utensils were introduced.

Presented on a custom black metal stand and in excellent vintage condition considering age and wear. It would be suitable to stand alone or be part of a larger collection with other West African wooden carvings. Display in a kitchen or study on a bookshelf or side table in any décor.
