Intricately woven vintage Philippine basket. The craftsperson used different weaving techniques and two different gauges of bamboo for its construction. The upper rim of the basket features a thicker bamboo in a one-over-two pattern that forms an amazing wavelike swirl pattern around the mouth. The body of the basket features very fine detail with an extremely tight wickerwork pattern. The handle is covered three bamboo strips along with the soft skin of the bamboo. The interior features a ceramic insert.
Display on a shelf or side table so you can enjoy the intricate patterns and beautiful natural buff color. This piece would be perfect in a Coastal Modern, California Casual. Japandi or Wabi Sabi interior setting.
