Dogon Male Ancestor Figure from Mali - 16" H X 3 " W

Standing male figure carved by the Dogon peoples of Mali depicting a male ancestor. This decorative piece is standing on a slightly eroded base, on flexed legs, with his arms hanging to the side and resting on his thighs. He has a slender body, narrow shoulders, a serene facial expression with an arrow head nose, a slit mouth, round bulging eyes, small oval ears and a high geometric central crested coiffure. The overall patina is a flat black with areas of dirt encrusting and affixed to a lucite block. 

It would complement an entry, study or main living space in a variety of interiors from California Casual, Globally

Date of Manufacture: 1970s

Condition: Very Good

Wear: Cracks on the side of the head which are consistent with age and use. Piece is structurally sound. Please refer to pictures.
