18th/19th Century Chinese Wood Figure of Guandi - 9.75" H X 5.25" W X 3.5" D

Antique Chinese 200+ year old gilt lacquered wooden statue of the popular deity Guandi (Guan Di), the armored god of war. This hand-carved piece depicts him seated wearing elaborate armor with one hand resting on his knee and the other raised. Traces of moustache, pigment and gilding remain. 

This is an interesting and attractive Chinese piece that would be perfect in a variety of interior settings from Maximalist, Traditional, Asian-Inspired to Eclectic.  

Place of Origin: China 

Date of Manufacture: 18th/19th Century 

Condition: Very Good

Wear: Restoration of finger on right hand. Slight crack on backside. Piece is structurally sound. Consistent with age.  Please refer to pictures.
