Beautiful 100+ year old antique Spanish Colonial santo portrait head of St. Francis of Assisi. This example features a traditional mustache and beard, a delicate nose, well carved ears, light eyebrows and deep set eyes. It has a lovely light to golden brown varied patina with areas of white pigment encrusted throughout the sculpture. A very fine and rare example perfect for the collector. The drilled hole on the underside of the head indicates that it may have been attached to a life-sized Santo.
The piece is free standing and comes with a black wooden base for presentation. Perfect for a range of interior settings from Traditional, Spanish Colonial, Southwestern... to Eclectic or Religious-Inspired.
