Antique bronze Khmer-style Buddha head with a classical serene expression, long slender nose, full lips, long pendant ears, and the coiffure represented by short ringlet curls of hair reflecting the artistic styles of the region and period in which this statue was created.
It is a vintage bust produced using cire perdue (lost wax casting) method and made of cast metal alloy. Its head is with ushnisha (a crown symbolizing spiritual enlightenment) and lotus bud, and is mounted on a custom wooden base.
This is a fine example of bronze casting from Cambodia mounted on newly refinished block of dark brown wood. It can act as a singular work of art or be displayed with other similar items from our collection. Perfect in a variety of interior settings from Zen, Asian-Inspired, California Eclectic... to Coastal Modern or Mid-Century.
