Vintage Thai Bamboo Wedding Basket with Lid/Cover - 11" H X 14.5" Diam.

Beautiful vintage red lacquer bamboo wedding basket with food storage compartment. The exterior is painted in red lacquer with gold accents in a delicate floral and abstract pattern motif. The basket contains a lid that is removable and the interior is a black treated bamboo. Typically these are presented to couples at weddings and are filled with sumptuous food offerings to be enjoyed after the wedding ceremony. Very decorative and well made example that would be perfect in a variety of interiors from Traditional, Maximalist... to Eclectic or Chinoiserie.

Condition: Excellent

Wear: Numerous slight chips and flaws to surface due to age and use which is appropriate for object. Although the piece is solid and structurally sound, we would not recommend using this for storage and suggest using it solely as a decor item. Please refer to pictures.
