An unusual 1960s Aboriginal carved wood sculpture of two snakes from the Tiwi Islands. This verified piece exhibits a traditional Aboriginal ochre palette with warm colors of iron oxides that are prominent in all regions of the Australian continent. Colors range from black, chocolate brown, and tobacco red to lighter tones of yellows and creams. Excellent vintage condition – and mounted on an acrylic base which displays both intricately-painted sides.
