Large Vintage Pucará Folk Art Bull from Peru Measuring 14 Inches Tall by 13 Inches Long

Painted pottery sculpture of a traditional bull. This piece of art has a high spiritual and protective value – and is present in ceremonies that include fertility, protection of livestock, harvest and other aspects of daily life.

Being that this is a traditional Pucará bull, it is not overly colored – and the use of clay confers its natural tone with only hand-painted ornamentation. Made by the Quechua people who live in the Lampa Province in the Puno Region of Peru.
