Vintage Philippine Bontok Gubu Fish Trap - 8.25" H X 4.5" Diam.

Vintage Bontok woven split bamboo Gubu fish trap basket. It was used for catching small fish in the rice paddies and its loop could then be tied to the back of the user’s hip. Due the age, condition, and amazing dark brown colored patina - it will add interest to any décor. Use in a variety of interior spaces from Japandi, to Coastal Modern, Rustic, or Wabi Sabi. 

Place of Origin: Bontok, Ifugao, N. Luzon, Philippines  

Date of Manufacture: 1950s-1960s 

Condition: Excellent
