Vintage Philippine Large Round Grain Labba Basket

Intricately woven large round grain basket (Labba). This excellent example is constructed of wickerwork that transitions from a four-inch square in the center of the base to a round rim. Additional warp pieces were tapered and inserted by the weaver to achieve the symmetrical round shape.

Structurally sound basket that would be perfect for storage or used as a decorative item. Its size, contrasting colors of natural buff and dark brown, and rich patina lend visual and sculptural interest to a variety of interior spaces. This is a truly unique piece that one could use for visual interest in residential, commercial or hospitality settings on a table or mounted on the wall to enjoy the different weaving techniques. Would be perfect in a variety of interior spaces from Coastal, Japandi, Wabi Sabi, or Organic Modern.
