Vintage Philippine Round Labba Basket

Intricately woven round grain basket (Labba). This bowl is constructed of wickerwork that transitions from a four-inch square in the center of the base to a round rim. Additional warp pieces were tapered and inserted by the weaver to achieve the symmetrical round shape.

Its size, contrasting colors of natural buff and dark brown, and rich patina lend visual and sculptural interest to a variety of interior spaces. This is an amazing piece that is truly unique in terms of the intricate pattern and level of detail and artistry. Display it for visual interest in residential, commercial or hospitality settings mounted on the wall to enjoy the different weaving techniques. Would be perfect in a variety of interior spaces from Coastal, Japandi, Wabi Sabi, or Organic Modern.
