Architectural element in the shape of a Naga head which had been located on the sides of a larger roof structure. This antique piece of teak architectural salvage provided symbolic protection and features amazing handwork with delicate carving. It displays an attractive natural grayish patina with red highlights and gold accents due to weather and age.
An extremely rare find that would make for great sculptural display in a commercial or residential setting. It is 'free-standing' and presented custom mounted on a thick base of acrylic with a support in the back. It would be perfect on a console table in an entry or great room in a variety of design settings from California Casual, Wabi Sabi, to Organic-Inspired or Coastal Modern Design.
Purchased in the 1970s on location in Thailand, this piece cannot be replicated as it is from the mid to late 19th century and was unique to the structure for which it was created. Perfect for 2024 - The Wood Dragon Year as a representation of authority, prosperity and good fortune!
