Vintage Nigerian Hausa Multi-Colored Coiled Basket Measuring 9.5 Inches Diameter by 6 Inches Tall

Traditional weaving techniques were used to make this basket from the Hausa peoples. This coiled basket is made from various types of grasses and is constructed with a smooth exterior with the interior being rougher in finish. This piece has a dark buff-colored background that also includes muted, well defined geometric 'color blocked' design patterns in black, red and green. It is sturdy and can double as both a small functional storage piece or a decorative art object. Perfect for Southwestern, Mid-Century, Boho or Coastal Modern Design interiors.
