Antique Spanish Colonial earthenware 'Olive Jar' with stand. As a common container during its time, it has a characteristic swollen body and rounded bottom (in the shape of an olive), and was used to carry liquids. This antique piece was collected from a hacienda in Central Mexico during the 1950s.
As typical for similar pieces of this period, it has a narrow top rim with rolled lip, an amazing unglazed matte patina, a smooth surface with some rough patches and no markings. Ringed manufacturing lines (or grooves) go around the body of the pot. Coloration is mostly shades of light and dark beige with an area of light terracotta/peach.
Perfect for many décor styles including Coastal, Japandi, Spanish Revival to Organic Modern.
