Intricately woven Ifugao Takba/Inabnūtan backpack basket favored by hunters. It has a protective cover of tiered palm fibers that repel rain keeping both the hunter’s shoulders and the basket’s contents dry during sudden rainfall. Fibers are knotted in layers on a flexible rattan shield.
A rare, museum-quality ethnographic piece that would make for a stunning addition to a private or public collection. Purchased on location during the early 1960s.
