Vintage Philippine Woven Round Labba Farm Work Basket

Vintage intricately woven round farm work basket (Labba). This piece is constructed of wickerwork where aesthetics are as important as strength. The tapering of the four corners assures that it can hold grain, the foot is made of wood/rattan as well as the rim.

Purchased in the 1960s in the Philippines – and has been part of a designer’s collection. Its rich dark mahogany brown patina will lend visual interest to a variety of interior spaces from Eclectic to Japandi or Organic Modern. Solid construction where it could be used as a decorative storage vessel.
