Large "ligao" winnowing tray used as an agricultural method for separating grain from chaff. Constructed of heavy split rattan in a one-over-two twill construction. The skin of the rattan is used on the inside of the tray to provide a smooth, hard surface. The rim is composed of one whole rattan.
Collected in the Philippines during the 1960s, this basket would add interest to any décor whether residential, commercial or hospitality from Coastal, Organic Modern, Rustic... to Wabi Sabi or Japandi. It would look great whether on a table or displayed on a wall in a grouping.
