Split bamboo woven strainer basket used for catching small fish as they were emptied out of the creels. The loop had a practical use as it was tied it to the back of the hip. It is constructed from two pieces of bamboo to form a solid rim around the mouth and the body has sturdy construction, but a loose weave to allow water to drain through.
With its unique shape, and natural buff colored patina, it will add interest to any décor. Display as a stand-alone piece or in a grouping in a variety of interior spaces from Japandi, to Rustic or Coastal Modern.
