One-of-a-kind 14th/16th Century glazed stoneware from central Thailand. Potters from the Ayutthaya Kingdom made vessels popular throughout Asia. This piece is an example of several fused bowls with a flower motif which were misfired and discarded in the refuse dump of a pottery workshop. Even though initially discarded, this hard-to-find piece is unique in its artistic form and was purchased in Thailand in the early 1970's. It could work in a variety of décor styles from Traditional to Mid-Century Modern or Wabi Sabi and is presented free-standing on a base of new black acrylic in order to give it a finished artistic look.
