Intricately Woven Natural/Buff-Colored Food Cover/Lampshade from the Philippines - 6.5" H X 11.5" L X 8.25" W (Oval)

This vintage hard-to-find basket is constructed out of woven bamboo in such an intricate pattern it has a three-dimensional appearance. The edge around the oval base is a woven rope-like pattern with the body of the dome composed of a hexagonal star-like pattern. The top has an intricate web-like design serving as the base for attachment of a woven spherical handle. 

Originally this piece was designed to be a dual-purpose food cover. It would protect the food from insects while serving as an amazing focal point of design for special festive occasions. 

We would suggest considering using this as a lampshade for a smaller table lamp on a dresser, console or nightstand. This level of detail should be appreciated up close and one can only imagine the amazing shadows the woven designs would cast when lit. Use in a variety of interior settings from Organic Inspired, Boho, Beach/Tropical or Coastal Modern.
