Pair of colonial Baule portrait figures featuring a male and a female. The female is wearing a blue bikini, has downcast eyes, painted scarification on her cheeks, and a black painted coiffure. Her arms are resting on her abdomen and she is standing on a rounded base. The male is wearing blue shorts and black shoes with a serene face and downcast eyes. His arms are also resting on his abdomen and he stands atop an integral rounded base painted black.
Both figures are carved in a naive, folk art style and do not have ritual significance. They would be perfect for a wide range of decor settings from Coastal... to Boho/Bohemian or Eclectic.
