Intricately-woven bamboo shoulder Pasiking/thin backpack. For this piece, the weaver used four different gauges of split bamboo. The careful sizing of the shoulder straps and the way in which the length may be adjusted shows the artisan's skill. The unique shape, color variation and sheer craftsmanship show the imagination that comes from this mountainous region.
This extremely hard to find one-of-a-kind piece would add interest as wall decor in a Japandi, Wabi Sabi, California Casual or Coastal Modern interior setting, or be a striking addition as part of a basket or purse collection. Collected in the 1960s in the Philippines.
