Striking geometric-patterned, hand-painted and glazed earthenware anthropomorphic figural vessel (male). Made by the Shipibo-Conibo people who live along the Ucayalia River in the Amazon rainforest in Peru – and painted with the traditional Shipibo designs in black and orange with a cream colored background. Acquired in Peru during the 1960s – and believed to have been produced in the 1950s.
This would be a great stand-alone piece for any decor – or combine it with our other offerings to build a tribal pottery collection.
