African mask carved in a non-traditional style exhibiting influences of both the Guro and Baule Peoples from the Ivory Coast. This example has a human face with an aggressive expression, oval shaped eyes, a broad nose, full lips, and small beard on the chin. Additional characteristics include 'c' shaped ears, bulging cheeks, and a bald coiffure with four twisted horns on top of the head of alternating bands of red and black. It has a very uniform black painted surface, mounted on black metal base.
This is a very original and unusual example of non-traditional tribal art. Perfect in a wide range of interior environments from an entry to a great room or study in a Modern, Boho, Eclectic or Mid-Century setting.
