Vintage woven square box (Huop). This piece was originally used to hold cooked rice and is made with the smooth skin of the bamboo on the inside. The rim around the base of the basket and the mouth of the basket are constructed out of heavy split rattan. The basket is constructed with split bamboo in a one-over-two pattern. Absolutely amazing patina, collected in the Philippines during the 1960s, and acquired from a decorator’s personal collection. This basket is structurally sound and could serve as a unique decorative storage piece. It would add interest in a variety of interior settings from Japandi, to Organic Modern, Traditional or Rustic.
