Yoruba Male Carving with Black Metal Stand

Yoruba-style carving of a male figure. This piece represents a standing male figure with short, stumpy legs atop a small staff, arms hanging to sides and holding small gourds. His face is crudely carved with bulging eyes, linear facial scars, a small mouth and triangular nose. The entire figure is covered in a uniform black and glossy applied surface.

Affixed to a square black metal base and would be perfect in a grouping along with our other African carvings. It would fit in with a range of décor styles from Mid-Century Modern, 1970s Revival, Boho or Eclectic.
