Huop Lidded Basket from the Philippines - 15.5" L X 15.5" W X 5.5" H

Tightly-covered "huop" basket/food box made of bamboo and rattan. Initially used to hold cooked rice during the day. The lower section is made with the smooth skin of the bamboo on the inside; the cover/lid has the skin on the outside. The basket is in excellent condition and could be used for storage or a décor item. It has a dark brown/black patina that would work with any interior space from Japandi, Coastal... to Wabi Sabi or Boho/Bohemian. 

Place of Origin: Ifugao, Luzon, Philippines 

Date of Manufacture: 1950s-1960s

Condition: Excellent
