Japanese Ikebana-Style Bamboo Basket Measuring 10 inches Tall by 9.5 Inches Diameter

This one-of-a-kind bamboo basket was designed especially for Ikebana, the Japanese art of floral arrangement. This post-war Japanese Ikebana styled basket is formed of woven steamed strips of bamboo of ovoid form resting on a short foot rim with ring handles on either side of the shoulder. The dark stained bamboo is woven in plaited and looped designs with a deep, rich dark reddish brown color.  

A stunning piece acquired from a personal collection that can be displayed in a wide range of interior environments from a Traditional Living Room to a Moody Study to a Zen-Inspired Primary Bedroom - anywhere so that the intricate craftsmanship can be appreciated.
