Grouping of three antique bronze Buddha heads mounted on three separate teak wooden bases. All pieces are a Buddha head of different sizes each with a classical serene expression, lidded downcast eyes, long slender nose, full lips, long pendant ears, and the coiffure represented by short ringlet curls of hair reflecting the artistic styles of the region and period in which each statue was created.
Instead of short ringlet curls of hair, others call out the myth of 108 snails when they accumulated on his bald head while meditating in a garden. So deep was his meditation that he never even realized the snails were there.
However you view these three pieces, they are very fine examples of bronze castings from Thailand mounted on newly refinished blocks of old teak wood. They can act as a standalone trio or be displayed with other similar items from our collection. Perfect in a variety of interior settings from Zen, Asian-Inspired, California Eclectic... to Coastal Modern or Mid-Century.
