Vintage Balinese "Dewi Sri" wooden figure with arcylic base. This vintage piece is a hand-carved and painted representation of the Rice Goddess with intricate detail and was used to wave over the crop to ensure a good harvest.
Dewi Sri is the Balinese and Javanese goddess of rice and fertility, also known as the Rice Goddess. She is a central figure in Balinese and Javanese mythology, representing the abundance and prosperity of rice, a staple food in Indonesia. This figuire is a representation with her hands clasped in prayer and has traditional charactersitic clothing, headwear and facial features.
A unique piece of art imparting propserity that would add sculptural interest to a variety of interior spaces across a range of décor themes spanning Zen, Asian-Inspired... to Boho or Eclectic.
