Hand-carved, vintage mask carved in the style of Yaore (Yohure) with three abstract, cubist birds on top of the head, a delicate and well-defined coiffure with serrated carving along entire rim of mask, and triangle motifs along the hairline with traces of kaolin accents. Additional features include a high forehead, heavy lidded eyes, high arched eyebrows, a long slender nose, a button mouth with reddish pigment, and a small beard like protrusion on the chin.
This piece comes with a stand, is beautifully carved and representative of genuine tribal art from the Yaore peoples, but not a ritually used mask. Perfect in a wide range of interior environments from an entry to a great room or study in a Boho, Organic-Inspired, Mid-Century or Coastal Modern Design setting.
